Proudly Presenting The New Pathwalker Site!

mind bodyWelcome to the new Pathwalkers website. I am the new owner and my name is Vickie. I was a big fan of the old Pathwalkers website, which went defunct way back in 2006 or 2007 or something like that. My memory doesn’t go back quite that far, but I seem to recall I was still browsing the website in 2007. Oh well. It got picked up by somebody else. This person held on to it for a couple of years. And now that the domain was released again, I picked it up. And now it’s mine. And I have big plans for this website.

I’m planning on turning it into a resource for all articles on well being in both mind and body. For a long time, I have been very sick. This was partly due to my own thoughts and actions. Because thoughts is where it all begins. Thoughts lead to choices. Choices lead to actions. Actions lead to consequences. Life is basically a big massive chain of choices, actions and consequences. And this can have either very disadvantageous or advantageous influences on both our body as well as your mind. Now be honest… would you rather be in bad shape or in good shape? If the answer is the latter, you’ve come to the right site.

holisticOur emotions can often lead us to having all sorts of physical sensations. When we are angry, we experience a burning sensation. When we are sad, we feel like we are choking up. When we are afraid of something, we feel ourselves trembling. Just the other day, I had an unpleasant experience with a colleague at work. He critized my work too harshly and completely unjust. And I could feel my heart start to pump stress hormones all throughout my chest. It’s amazing how fast the body pulls off stunts like that, isn’t it? It’s amazing how we can influence our own bodies with our own thoughts.

But you see… it wasn’t that colleague’s fault that my body started pumping around stress hormones like a raving lunatic. It was my own. It was caused by my own thoughts. And since I’m fed up with having my physical sensations being influenced ‘by other people’, I have taken up meditation in order to calm myself down. Meditation can really help in making a person less anxious. I’ve seen many of my friends do it. Now I’m doing it too. I look forward to the day where I can easily withstand a person’s unjust and harsh critiques without having to ‘burn with anger’ or ‘tremble with fear’.

My health is everything to me and I’m willing to do whatever it takes in order to be as healthy as I possibly can. What use is my limited time on earth if I can not live it in good health? It’s very important to be healthy in both body as well as mind. In recent years, I’ve taken up a health diet and a healthy exercise regimen as well. I regularly take walks and/or jogs. I even go to the gym. And when the gym is closed or I don’t feel like going, I still do bodyweight exercises.

Great way to stay in shape both physically as well as mentally! 😀
